Breeding Standards

Breeding Program and Genetics:

We have developed a selective breeding program focused on preserving the Shih Tzu’s desirable physical and temperamental traits. We screen our breeding stock for genetic health conditions common to the breed, such as brachycephalic airway syndrome, patellar luxation, and progressive retinal atrophy. By prioritizing health and genetic diversity, we aim to produce Shih Tzu puppies that are less prone to inheritable issues.

Socialization and Puppy Raising:

One of the hallmarks of Gracious Shih Tzu Puppies is our commitment to socialization. All of our puppies are raised in our family’s home environment, where they receive extensive human interaction and exposure to various sights, sounds, and experiences from a young age. This helps the puppies develop into well-adjusted, confident, and friendly companions.

My family and I are actively involved in every aspect of the puppies’ care, from feeding and grooming to playtime and training. This hands-on approach ensures each pup receives the individual attention and nurturing they need to thrive.

Puppy Placement and Customer Support:

Before placing a Shih Tzu puppy in its forever home, I take the time to get to know the prospective owners. I want to ensure the puppy is going to a loving, responsible environment where its needs will be met. This personalized approach helps create lasting connections between the breeder and new owners.

“Even after a puppy is placed, Gracious Shih Tzu Puppies provides ongoing support and guidance to our customers. I’m always available to answer questions, offer training tips, and provide recommendations to help the new owners and their Shih Tzu thrive together.”

Overall, our dedication to responsible breeding, comprehensive socialization, and personalized customer service sets us apart as a highly reputable and trustworthy Shih Tzu breeder.
